There’s an all dog alternate universe out there where the Muttreal Caninediens have a defenseman named Barkov.
It would take a tragedy on a cosmic scale for the Canadiens to miss the playoffs and without Nick Bjugstad it would take a small miracle for the Panthers to overtake the Bruins and Sens to make said playoffs. That certainly doesn't make this game any less interesting, but it serves more a tune-up than a do or die game for the Habs. I'd much rather be watching that than the circus happening in Toronto.
And it's hard to dislike the Panthers when they have talented guys in their lineup like Huberdeau and Kulikov and Turk behind the bench.
I wanted to called this thread Purple Hayes or Holding Pateryn, but neither seemed quite accurate enough. Thankfully Lars Eller came around to make things interesting.
I really enjoy that we have four Canadian teams in the playoffs and Cherry chooses to lead with some bs about the Sens-Leafs game.
