Canadiens vs Maple Leafs third period thread

The Habs still lead it 2-0 heading into the third period.

Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

The Habs went on the powerplay early in the second period and quickly caught up to the Leafs as far as putting shots towards the net. They did not score to increase their lead, but were good for 3 shots on net and 5 shot attempts registered on the two minute man-advantage.

On the other side of the ice, the Leafs would not get their first shot on net until the seven minute mark. On two power plays, the Leafs would only hit the net once, but 5 v 5, as the period went on the Leafs were able to create some offensive chances, leading in all offensive categories to end the period except for goals.

Carey Price faced 11 shots in the second period, as the Leafs lead 22-11 in shots on net, 40-26 in CF, and 30-18 in FF.

If this is Lars Eller's last period a Hab he'll have been given every chance to show what he's worth, having been used on the penalty kill and powerplay tonight for 10:38 time-on-ice.
