Canadiens vs Panthers third period thread

Brendan Gallagher has the Habs up 2-1 heading into the third period.

Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

The Habs have won 20 of 22 games when tied after the first period. Brendan Gallagher increased the Habs chances of maintaining that sterling record with a good drive to the net as Max Pacioretty laid out a nice shot along the ice for him to tap in on the rebound for Gallagher's 100th career point. Midway through the period, the Habs were outshooting the Panthers 7-2 and 10-3 in shot attempts. Gallagher pots another one after P.K. Subban swirled around the offensive zone until finally losing control of the puck in the slot. The goal was scored on the Habs' tenth shot of the period.

Tomas Fleischmann broke Carey Price's streak of 140:05 without allowing a goal with a turn-around shot from between the face-off circles. By the end of the period the Panthers had only placed 7 shots on net to the Habs' 16, and flatlined for four of the last seven minutes of the second period, recording only 2 shot attempts to end the period.

The Habs have a chance to wrap this up in the third period. P.K. Subban leads all players with 15:40 of ice-time.
