Canadiens vs. Bruins second period thread

The Habs dominated the first period, and lead 1-0 heading into the second.

Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

The Habs got off to a good start, forechecking hard and forcing Bruins turnovers as they tried to escape their own zone. The Habs dominated the possession early on in the game, putting up 9 of 13 shot attempts recorded between both teams in the first five minutes played.

The Habs continual dominance paid off, with Paul Byron scoring on a lob shot from the side of the net at the 8:49 mark of the first period, on the Canadiens' seventh shot on net and their twelfth shot attempt of the period.

The Canadiens did not let up, putting up the next 10 of 14 shot attempts, and holding the Bruins to just one shot on net in the final 11 minutes of the first period.

P.K. Subban and Brad Marchand exchanged slashes on their way to the bench, and were both served minor penalties. It will be four on four hockey  to start the second period.
