The Montreal Canadiens proceeded to reassign two players, as well as sending two other players to the waiver wire this morning.
Headed to St. John's via Waivers
- Mark Barberio showed why he was signed to a free agent deal, as he played some solid minutes on D during the preseason. He provides the Habs with more NHL ready depth should he clear waivers.
- Dustin Tokarski will ply his trade in the AHL this season, after a mediocre season last year, and a rough showing during preseason action. Which means Mike Condon will back up Carey Price this year.
Headed to St. John's Directly
- Sven Andrighetto wasn't going to play in a bottom six role in Montreal, and with Tomas Fleischmann added to the depth, Andrighetto was squeezed out of the lineup in the NHL. Top line offensive minutes in the AHL will help him refine his promising skill set.
- Charles Hudon is a very promising player in the Montreal organization. He will hope to continue scoring at the league leading pace he showed last season, waiting for a call up to the big club.
The final roster will have 13 forwards, 8 defencemen, and 2 goaltenders.
