Nikita Scherbak's first professional goal

Nikita Scherbak finally has his first pro goal, and it was a beautiful snipe.

There are few prospects currently playing in the Montreal Canadiens system that have the upside of Nikita Scherbak. The young Russian has been impressive, but it took him some time to finally find twine in the AHL. But, when he did, he did so in quite the impressive manner.

Scherbak gets the puck near the point, and realizes that he has some space to work with. He calmly walks down below the top of the circles, and fires a shot that would probably be tough to stop for most NHL goaltenders. The video quality is not great, but you can see his handy work below.

Sure, it took him some time to get that first one, but it's only fair to give the kid some time to adjust to the speed of the professional level. If this is a sign of things to come from the former first-round pick, then the Canadiens have themselves a heck of a player in Nikita Scherbak.
