Obrand Standard Time: Habs vs. Leafs

Thoughts and humourous quips on yesterday's game versus the Leafs.

Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

On the Maple Leafs in General

Must be weird for the Leafs to know that their fans are all angry Blue Jays fans.

I don't want to say the Leafs line up is bad, but they're dressing the sewage that was dumped in the St. Lawrence River as their 4th line centre.

Speaking of sewage, Nazem Kadri. Kadri looks like one of those guys who is always complaining about how everything is unfair.

PA Parenteau is on the Leafs 4th line. The player who felt he was being misused by his coach is now being paid by his former team to feel misused by his new coach.

I give that Grabner goal two McCabes out of 10.

Dion Phaneuf went full Lucic. You never go full Lucic. Fool.

I don't think I've seen a team put up so many shots and look less dangerous before in my life.

I feel wrong calling the Leafs a hockey team.

The best part of the game was when Brendan Shanahan caused a stoppage in play when he rappelled from the press box and started to give notes on the Leafs powerplay.

I really enjoy ripping the Leafs. I'm going to keep doing it.

The Maple Leafs are terrible but a lot of people love them. They're Olive Garden.

The Leafs asked Drake to be an ambassador like he is for the Raptors but they couldn't hear his answer on account of all the laughing.

It's pretty great that the only way the Leafs can get the national broadcast on HNIC is when they play Montreal.

What do the Blue Jays and the Maple Leafs have in common? They both lose when Price plays.

On Murder

You can see the exit wound on Jonathan Bernier from that PK shot.

I think Pacioretty's goal went through the same hole.

On Schadenfreude

I don't think there is anything better than PK Subban scoring on the Leafs while Parenteau looks on from the penalty box.

On SEGA

They're called the SEGA line because it has a dream cast. Galchenyuk looked like he was back in Sarnia there. The talent level probably isn't that different at this point.

On Awesome things

The Habs have scored at least 3 goals in every game they have played this season.

Who's Bar/Bat Mitzvah was it at the Bell Centre?

On 12 More Years

Just some great Rogers lines:

"It's times like these where Therrien might shake up the lines a bit" The Habs are up 4-2

"The Canadiens are a middle of the road club but they're 8-0"

They literally did a montage of sad Leafs faces after the 2nd period ended. I am definitely down for 12 more years of that.
