Canadiens vs Sabres Top Six Minutes: Maybe Ackbar was wrong? It wasn't a trap

Pre-Game

-Everything about this game needs Admiral Ackbar to remind me us all that this,is in fact a trap.

-Rather sad I couldn't head to Buffalo tonight for one of my few chances to see the Habs play live and in person.

-I'm filling this sadness with Ommegang's new Oatmeal Stout, because beer is good for the soul.

-No Steve Ott, no Patrick Kaleta,no John Scott...Are the Sabres becoming less scummy and more of an actual hockey team now?

-Please for the love of god don't suck tonight Habs, it's Friday and I could use some happiness before a 6 am wake up tomorrow.

-Fun new game, close your eyes and attempt to type out Zemgus Girgensons. Share results in the comments.

1st Period

-It's Condon vs Johnson tonight...Make your own joke folks.

-Odd man rush less than 30 seconds into the game? BY GAWD ACKBAR WAS RIGHT!

-I wonder if Josh Gorges uses the same motivational tactics in Buffalo that he did in Montreal.

-This was not what I'd call an ideal start but hey the Habs always adjust so far this season.

-There's a really lewd joke to be made about Semin being in the box or something.

-It has been *0* days since someone last attempted to annihilate Brian Flynn

-Guess I can add Buffalo to list of cities that boo P.K. Subban for no relevant reason.

-Fun thing I learned at the Rochester Analytics Conference, Cody Franson lacks to ability to turn around.

-Seriously he can't do it with any sort of ease or grace.

-DUTCH GRETZKY SCORES!!

-What a gorgeous odd man rush by Subban and Dale Weise with a perfect finish.

- There's now confetti falling from the ceiling in Buffalo, MSG says it's from the Paul McCartney concert last night but obviously someone is still celebrating Weise's goal.

-That Jack Eichel kid is good, but Mike Condon has been better so far.

2nd Period

-Let's turn to EOTP's own Matt Drake for his thoughts between periods

Weise was actually quite correct in his intermission interview. They need to tighten up with Eichel coming from all angles.

-PHRASING

-Brendan Gallagher right in his wheelhouse and scores your typical GallyGoal!

-(I missed the goal going to get another refreshing beverage)

-Alexei Emelin just rocked Evander Kane, which if the past has taught me anything will lead to Kane assaulting Emelin with a helmet.

-Somehow Brian Flynn is back after being crushed by defenseman/wizard Rasmus Ristolainen.

-Aw man someone found a hole in our Condon.

-Of course it was Matt Moulson who seemingly only scores against the Habs.

-Eichel may have just had the softest push after the whistle on Lars Eller,clearly he doesn't care enough about teammates. #BUST

-Ryan O'Reilly scores on the PP while Fleischmann is in the box for something because no game in Buffalo can be easy.

-I'm not saying the officiating has been bad tonight, but it's making Donald Trump's campaign for the presidency look pretty good.

-Torrey Mitchell gets his revenge on the Sabres, tipping home an absolute rocket from Subban!

-Somehow quietly Subban has collected 3 assists tonight...So far.

-Andrei Markov pump fakes like he's Aaron Rodgers and then blasts a PP goal through Chad Johnson.

-Of note with an assist on the goal Tomas Plekanec now has 300 for his career.

-Gallagher draws a penalty by beating Josh Gorges to the crease, must not have been a fan of all those chores in Montreal.

3rd Period

-Well that's one way to start a period, what a gorgeous goal in tight by Gallagher.

-It's been a good night for the Habs top defensive pairing, three points for both Markov and Subban so far.

-Gorges is not having a fun night, now getting steamrolled by Subban at the blueline.

-I'm actually in tears laughing at Franson trying to push over David Desharnais and failing miserably.

-Well things can't always be perfect seeing as Subban just shattered Gallagher's upper body with a slapshot.

-Captain America Max Pacioretty jumps in on the fun and this is the most depressing thing seen in Buffalo since the Bills lost last weekend.

-Not much else to say but the MSG broadcast just called Nathan Beaulieu-Nathan Baloo...Like the main character in the Jungle Book?

-ANOTHER HABS GOAL!

-WHAT A SAVE BY EMELIN

-CAPS LOCK ENGAGED

-And now the OLE's are raining down at the First Niagara Center as this game is essentially a wrap.
