St. John's IceCaps vs. Binghamton Senators series preview

The St. John's IceCaps begin a two game home series on Tuesday night when they play host to their North Division rivals, the Binghamton Senators, at Mile One Centre.

The IceCaps are coming off an impressive weekend, beating the Rochester Americans twice on home ice. Christian Thomas, Sven Andrighetto, and Bud Holloway led the way for St. John's, on a weekend that also saw rookie net minder Zachary Fucale get his first professional victory. Rookie forward, and former Canadiens first-round pick Michael McCarron also recorded his first career hat trick.

Binghamton arrives in Newfoundland coming off a loss to the Syracuse Crunch on Saturday night, and present a good mix of veterans and young players to take on a young IceCaps roster.  Colin Greening , a Newfoundlander and NHL mainstay over the last few seasons, Makes his return to St. John's. Eric O'Dell, a newly signed player in the Senators system also returns to St. John's, where he played his first four seasons as a pro with the IceCaps.

The Senators also boast some other notable names in their lineup, such as2015 World Junior champion Nick Paul, and the highly sought after college goaltending prospect Matt O'Connor. They also have a number of players with plenty of NHL experience, like enforcer Zach Stortini, and defensemen Mark Fraser and Mike Kostka.
