Alexei Emelin was a one-man wrecking crew in Pittsburgh

The oft-maligned Habs defender had himself quite a night in Pittsburgh, leading to this nice highlight package.

Alexei Emelin had himself a pretty good game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He recorded a total of seven hits during the game, and was solid defensively in the process. As the highlight package below will show you, some of the hits were definitely ones to add to his career highlight reel.

As the video shows, Emelin was a one-man wrecking crew against the Pens. While he did great throwing the body; more importantly, he has been very good  in general so far this season. He has always had his doubters, but so far this year, he's done everything in his power to silence them.

Forgetting that excellent string of body checks for a minute, when Emelin was on the ice against the Pens, the Canadiens controlled 62.5% of all even strength shot attempts. He hasn't exactly been a statistical darling throughout his career, but so far this year he's been proving that he absolutely can be.

Hopefully this is a sign of more to come from him.
