Canadiens vs Lightning Second Period Thread

The Habs lead the Lightning 1-0 heading into the second period.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

They sure took a while to get their first shot on net, about thirteen minutes, but once the Habs realized they were playing hockey they were able to convert a goal after a string of chances started by Alex Galchenyuk who continues to prove he's a catalyst for this team.

Dale Weise loves to score against Tampa. "Dutch Gretzky", or "Dutch G" for short, was rewarded for his persistence around the net with the go ahead goal 15 minutes in.

Although it took a while for the Habs to get some offense going, it was a nice chance to see Carey Price prove his worth again, keeping the Canadiens in the game with some key saves.

P.K. Subban is having a rough game so far. A bad giveaway on the PP, a terrible penalty that gave Tampa a 5 on 3. And, a "trip" from Jason Garisson.

The shots evened out by the end of the period, despite Tampa Bay being up 8-1 at one point.
