Canadiens vs Capitals second period thread

The Habs and Caps are tied headed into the second period.

The Habs played a solid period defensively, keeping the Capitals to the outside for the most part and whatever got through was summarily eaten up by Carey Price. The Capitals pressure seemed to get to the Habs by the fifteen minute mark of the first period, with Lars Eller taking a hooking penalty, and Washington has the momentum heading into the second period.

Some good things to draw on from the first period include some good penalty killing, and since it's an afternoon game and the sun is shining, we want to remain optimistic. The Habs have had a lot of success building on defensive foundations laid in the beginnings of games, and by that I mean Carey Price, although as a team the Habs have been stepping it up with the tightening of their defensive structure of late.
