The last time these two teams met the Habs were on one of their worst streaks of the year. The 4-1 loss to the Stars was their sixth in seven games. It marked a low point for the season, but it was fortunately followed by a surge of wins. Since that Saturday night dismantling in Dallas, the Canadiens have won 12 of 16 and have only lost consecutive games once.

This is the start of the busy part of the regular season, with the Habs playing four games in the next six days, including back-to-back home games this weekend. The Dallas Stars are an offensive team that doesn't seem all that interested in defense, which can either play into the Habs' favour, or their demise, especially if we see a performance like they gave against Nashville last week, when they recorded only  four shots in the first period. Carey Price may have to put up the "wall" to give the boys a chance to get their legs going, which seems to be the continued theme of this team, making us pull out our hair for twenty minutes before seeing them hit their stride in the second and third period.

The Habs welcome Travis Moen back to the Bell Center tonight. The former Hab will be playing his first game back in Montreal since he was traded to the Stars on November 11 for Sergei Gonchar.

The teams hit the ice at 7:30 PM EST.
