Canadiens vs Devils second period thread

First period curse? The Habs almost score 16 seconds in, but Brendan Gallagher can't bury it. It was a very grindy period - lots of movement around the boards and battles for the puck. Everyone looks lively. The play loosens up a bit after another failed Habs' powerplay where the only notable action took place when Nathan Bealieu possibly broke Peter Harold's jaw with a low slash for the puck that went wrong as Harold was searching for the puck.

A Lars Eller penalty gives the Devils some momentum, but with Price holding down the fort around a very tight defense, there isn't much the Devils can do.

The play moved quickly this period, but not a lot happened aside from a few quick chances by the Habs, including a golden opportunity by PA Parenteau with a minute and a half left in the period. It isn't a shootout so he's stymied and the period ends in a 0-0 tie (well for good measure, Gallagher hits the post with 40 seconds left. First Period Curse intact).
