- A rundown on Juulsen: [Sportsnet]
After scoring just 10 points for the Silvertips in 2013-14, Juulsen was considered a late-second or early-third round pick heading into this season. But then everything changed.
Juulsen’s production from the back end improved by more than 500 percent as he recorded 52 points in 68 games for one of the top teams in the WHL. Among draft eligible defencemen in the league, Juulsen was only behind Ivan Provorov and Ryan Pilon in scoring.
Around the League and Elsewhere
- Boston Bruins to Calgary Flames: Dougie Hamilton for 15th overall and two second rounders. [The Score]
Some teams didn’t even seem aware Hamilton was being aggressively shopped today. Bruins auction process for a player this good was flawed.

- Boston Bruins to L.A. Kings: Milan Lucic for Martin Jones, 13th overall, and a prospect. [The Score]
- Ottawa Senators to Buffalo Sabres: Robin Lehner and David Legwand for 21th overall. [Die by the Blade]
- Colorado Avalanche to Buffalo Sabres: Ryan O’Reilly for Nikita Zadorov, Mikhail Grigorenko, J.T. Compher, and the 31st overall. Not suprising the Avs let him go – O’Reilly is asking for contracts in the $60 million range. [Sportsnet]
- New York Islanders to Edmonton Oilers: Griffin Reinhart for the 16th and 33rd overall picks. [The Score]
For one more second rounder than the #Oilers gave up for Griffin Reinhart, the Flames got Dougie Hamilton. Let that sink in. Ouch.

- Gosh, can’t believe someone scooped him up already.
Holding out hope that Connor McDavid is still there when we pick at No. 56. #NHLDraft
