  • Eller gets to start from scratch with his new contract in hand. Eller signed a four-year deal for $14M this summer to remain with the Canadiens. After an abysmal regular season, Eller became the Canadiens best forward through three playoff rounds for the Habs in this year's playoffs.   • Rangers give Malone a fresh start. The New York Rangers have announced the signing of UFA Forward Ryan Malone to a one-year, two-way contract that will pay him $700k at the NHL level. Malone is coming off the worst year of his hockey career both on and off the ice and is very excited to have a fresh start. [CBS]
  • Pekka Rinne looks ready to return to elite form. Rinne has been hampered with hip issues for the past year and says that they are behind him. This is great news for my former hometown of Smashville. [USA Today]
