Over the last 24 hours or so, Marc Bergevin has been rocking it. First up, he ditched the anchor of a deal that was Daniel Briere, and in return he got a top-six right winger capable of putting up first line production, and he's paid the same as Briere. On top of that Bergevin had the Avs through in a fiftth round pick, because why not?
Bergevin opened free agency by signing fourth line faceoff ace Manny Malhotra, then traded Josh Gorges to the Buffalo Sabres for a second round pick, signed Tom Gilbert to a two year deal, re-signed Mike Weaver for another year, signed coveted, young Czech forward Jiri Sekac, and dropped the mic.
Now Bergevin will meet the media to discuss his moves, and you can tune in live here here.
