Habs and Ranger tied at nuthin'-nuthin' after one in New York City.

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

Whenever the Jim Hughson says Kevin Klein's name, I keep searching the crowd for Kevin Kline the actor [insert Big Chill or Wild Wild West joke here].

The Gionta penalty was a disappointing call, but thankfully the Habs escaped without any damage being done.  Was I alone in thinking the Habs would go on the PP there? The Habs first powerplay (which will carry over into the second) was almost an unmitigated disaster as the Rangers had a nice shorthanded chance. Luck saved the Habs and Tokarski on that one.

Not an amazing period by the Habs by any stretch of the imagination (outshot 11-5 by the Rangers), but with the score tied at zero, it's hard to rule it as an overall disaster.
