Canadiens vs Bruins second period thread

New, comments

Now that's more like it! Canadiens lead Bruins 1-0 on an unassisted goal by Lars Eller.

Jean-Yves Ahern-USA TODAY Sports

Not a lot to dislike in this first period. Canadiens came out flying and took the lead early in the first on a Lars Eller goal. Must have been the Dick Irvin factor on HNIC. I don't have too many HNIC favourites, but Dick Irvin surely was one. I love that voice and I love that memory.

Aside from Dick Irvin, the HNIC broadcast has been decidedly pro Bill Laimbeer Bruins. I did love the way PK shut down Scott Oake's question about Shawn Thornton. The guy just wants to score goals Scott, leave'em alone.

There's still 40 minutes left to play. Let's hope we get another shot of Don Cherry's airbrushed tie.
