- Short Top Six tonight, because most of us can't feel our fingers and will need hours to calm down from this. And because all I remember is the OT winner.
- What a win. Whether you dominate to win or steal the game with excellent goaltending and some lucky bounces, from the point of view of a fan, a win in the playoffs is a win in the playoffs. To have it come against the Bruins is all the more satisfying.
- That said, some not-so-happy thoughts:
- The Boston Bruins are the best team in the league.
- The Habs are not.
- The Canadiens are not going to win the series or any more games playing like they did tonight. That's just the way it is. They need to be better. Price did everything he possibly could, luck took care of the rest. They need to be better. A lot better.
- Was not surprised to see that the Bruins brought their Stanley-Cup-favourites game and not their lose-their-heads-against-the-Habs-like-idiots game.
- The dreaded two-goal lead struck again, although looking at the Extra Skater page, it's pretty evident that the two-goal lead was pretty accidental/lucky/etc.
- I'll say this for the Boston Bruins: their organist is pretty awesome. They have the least terrible music of all the arenas, in general. And that's the nicest thing I'm prepared to say about them this evening.
- Rene Bourque is out Briere-ing Daniel Briere on his own team. Seriously, how amazing has he been?
- Patrice Bergeron is so hard to play against.
- Zdeno Chara, you can't take a nap on David Desharnais in the middle of a game.
- Alexei Emelin was not a disaster.
- Can we talk about goaltending clinics?
- Summary of the game: Bruins dominate, but it's kind of a snoozer at first. Habs go up 2. Bruins tie the game. Habs score again. Bruins score again. Habs win in double overtime. Oh, and HOW DID THAT NOT GO IN?
- After the game, Scott Oake was interviewing P.K. Subban and Subban said "if it wasn't for Carey Price, we wouldn't be in this game" about ten million times. Then complimented Oake on his suit. SWAGGER.
- The Bruins are cup favourites, and have been all season. The only question is whether the Habs can play better than this against them. If not, this is going to be a really short series. We'll see what happens. I haven't lost faith. But if they play the second game like they did tonight, I might lose a little bit. Because luck won't always be on their side.
- EOTP three stars: 1. Carey Price. 2. Carey Price. 3. P.K. Subban.
- WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
- Highlights! Starting with your OT winner:
