NHL Playoffs 2014: Bruins, Red Wings, Wild, Avalanche, Sharks, Kings

As we wait for round 2 to commence, here's an open thread to keep an eye on all the action in tonight's playoffs.

The Nutcracker strikes again!
The Nutcracker strikes again!
Bruins @ Red Wings. (7 PM EST, NBCSN, NESN, FS-D) Boston leads the series 2-1.

Detroit will have to dig deep if they hope to avoid the dreaded 3-1 series deficit.  The Wings have only managed two goals in the first three games, mostly due to Tuukka Rask's top notch goaltending (.976 save %)

The Habs will meet the winner of this series in the second round. If it's the Wings expect a great series. If it's the Bruins expect Jack Edwards to spit a lot while he rambles.

AvalancheWild. (9:30 PM EST, CNBC, TSN2, RDS2, ALT, FS-N, FS-WI) Colorado leads the series 2-1.

It's a little crazy that Colorado is leading this series, seeing as how they've been thoroughly out-possessed in all three games. The Wild hold a 57.9 FF%, which is tops in the NHL playoffs at the moment. Colorado's 105 EV PDO will probably returning to normal levels faster than Milan Lucic spears nut sacks.

Sharks @ Kings. (10:30 PM EST, CBC, RDS, CSN-CA, FS-SW) San Jose leads the series 3-0.

It's do or die for the Kings, as the Sharks have been relentless in their quest for a second round birth. Most fans expected this series to be a close one, although so far the results have been everything but close. Jonathan Quick will have to improve on his .852 save % if the Kings want to send the series back to San Jose.
