Lots of make-up calls, phantom calls, lucky calls, and blown calls. Not a very good period for either team, but it appeared more damaging for the Habs then it was for the Bolts as the Habs looked disorganized in their own end and looked awful in the offensive zone - as Harry Neale once said (sorta kinda) "they're running out of places to play!"
But just as I was writing that Brendan Gallagher gets free in a 4 on 4 situation, becomes the recipient of a magnificent Subban play and scores! It was a thing of beauty. Momentum restored. Huge huge goal.
Huge huge Cooper freakout.
I thought this was kinda funny,
RT if you instinctively refer to the Tampa Bay Lightning's coach as "Jon Cooper Mellancamp."

Aside from that not much very funny in the second period. Stamkos had a doozy of a bang-up with Prust and Emelin late in the second after a TB no-goal call (and it probably should have been a goal or maybe not). The crash didn't look at all intentional, but it will no doubt be a catalyst for intentional nastiness to come. Stamkos didn't look so hot coming off the ice and note that he went to the dressing room, not the bench, after the hit.
