It's nice to be reminded that Gionta can pull some pretty slick offensive moves. Gionta had the Habs' best chance 5 minutes into the game - shoulda gone with triple deke Charlie Connelly style.

The Habs almost had a couple of great powerplay chances during a 4 minute slashing penalty to Steve Stamkos, but then the Habs took a really brilliant too many men on the ice penalty so that didn't happen at all. Patches did play with a bit of a fire underneath his posterior after alerting the refs to the penalty and had a nice breakaway off a Subban pass. I have to wonder if Subban had made the same mistake as Pacioretty would he a) be still booed as lustily by Bolts fans and b) would he be back on the ice as quickly.

As predicted, the Bolts didn't play so terrible this game.

Now for something stupid from Don Cherry.
