The NHL has released the schedule for the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning in the opening round of the 2014 playoffs:
Game | Away | Home | Date |
1 | Montreal | Tampa Bay | Wednesday, April 16th. 7:00 PM |
2 | Montreal | Tampa Bay | Friday, April 18th. 7:00 PM |
3 | Tampa Bay | Montreal | Sunday April 20th. 7:00 PM |
4 | Tampa Bay | Montreal | Tuesday April 22nd. 7:00 PM |
5* | Montreal | Tampa Bay | Thursday, April 24th. 7:00 PM |
6* | Tampa Bay | Montreal | Sunday, April 27th. 7:00 PM |
7* | Montreal | Tampa Bay | Tuesday, April 29th. 7:00 PM |
*if necessary
Throughout the season Montreal didn't particularly draw much advantage from playing at home, considering their record of 23-13-5 is almost identical to their away record of 23-15-3. Tampa Bay on the other hand was tremendous at home, sporting at top notch 25-10-6 record compared to their road record of 21-17-3.
There should be plenty of away support for the Habs in Florida, as there is usually a good turnout during most Canadiens games at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
It's worth noting that no games are scheduled for Saturday night, which seems a little silly considering Montreal is Canada's only team that managed to get an invite to the big dance. I can't remember the last time there was no Canadian team playing on a Saturday night in the playoffs.
All the games will be available on CBC and RDS in Canada, and online via their web stream service.
