Canadiens vs Avalanche second period thread

An 18 year old was the difference, as a sleepy period ended with a bang.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Patrick Roy promised that this would be a high scoring affair, at least on the Avs side of things, however the game started with a thud rather than a bang. For the most part we were treated to a sleepy 20 minutes, as neither club took many chances except a couple half breakaways early in the period.

Nathan MacKinnon is scary good, and decided that enough was enough. He capitalized on a weird bounce and beat Carey Price with a backhand. A quick reminder: Nathan MacKinnon is 18.

Brandon Prust went down with another injury, however he quickly returned to the bench. I didn't catch if he actually took a shift late in the 1st, so we'll have to keep an eye on the ever-injured player.
