Canadiens vs Avalanche game thread

The Avalanche have gone 7-3 in their last ten, and the circus returns to town with the appearance of Patrick Roy.

Doug Pensinger

There aren't any roster changes tonight, except for the return of Carey Price to the lineup. Brian Gionta practiced on the third line with Lars Eller and Alex Galchenyuk, whereas spark plug Brendan Gallagher was slotted onto the second line alongside Tomas Plekanec.

Douglas Murray is once again left aside (Thank Maurice Richard!), which means that Francis Bouillon will continue to get top minutes. However it's worth noting that Bouillon has played reasonably well after his month and a half hiatus.

Giguere gets the start in net for the Avalanche, a team that has somehow managed to hold onto a home ice advantage playoff position despite producing very poor possession stats.

A paper tiger or a legitimate outlier? I guess we'll see.

Puck drop is at 7:30 PM EST.
