Winter Olympics 2014 Men's Hockey: Sweden vs Switzerland

Both teams are coming off a win in their opening game and look to continue building momentum.

Sweden started off their quest for Olympic hockey dominance with a comfortable win over the Czechs. They quickly took the lead and never turned back, however they seemed to struggle as the game went on.

Switzerland on the other hand avoided an upset versus the Latvians in their opening game. They scored with less than eight seconds remaining in the game and secured a 1-0 win, in a game where they out shot Latvia 39-21.

Unfortunately for Switzerland, Sweden should provide them with a much tougher opponent, one who will likely dominate the vast majority of the game, however there is some bad news for the Swedes. Captain Henrik Zetterberg, who registered a goal and an assist in Sweden's 4-2 win versus the Czech Republic, is currently suffering from a herniated disk, and had to miss Sweden's practice on Thursday. He's been ruled out for the rest of the tournament, and is headed home.

Sweden is already without one of their best players, Henrik Sedin, who was forced to drop of the Olympics due to a nagging rib injury.

This game should be quite important in terms of elimination round seeding, as both Sweden and Switzerland sit in Group C.

Here's Switzerland's roster, headlined by Jonas Hiller and three former Habs defencemen: Yannick Weber, Mark Streit, and Raphael Diaz.

Sweden's roster is a lot more star-studded, however they'll lean heavily on Alfredsson, Landeskog and Sedin if Zetterberg is unable to play.

Update: Henrik Zetterberg has been ruled out of the remaining games of the Olympics, which means Sweden will be forced to play without their two best players down the middle for the rest of the tournament.

Puck drop is at 7:30am EST, and you can stream it live here. It is also available in French.
