Names. The theme of tonight's game has been names. Whether it's the chuckle I give every time i encounter the name Garbutt, the butchering of Sekac (Sickish/Sick-itch*) and Andrighetto (Andrighetti) by Fox Sports, or the minute of silence Dallas showed Jean Beliveau's name, it's been a night of names. It's also been a night of terrible defense by the Habs. With just over half the period eaten away, the Habs had surrendered two power plays (Emelin and Subban and on Garbutt both times!), a powerplay goal, and 9 shots. The Stars didn`t score in 19 seconds, but it wasn't from lack of lack of trying on the part of the Habs (see what I did there?).
The Habs' offense has been anemic. The Habs first show came with less than 6 minutes left to play and noted sniper Manny Malhotra was the triggerman.
This isn't a pretty game. And if the Habs don't pick it up, Dallas is going to do them.
*Thanks Scott Matla
