This game started off with the great news that Brendan Gallagher has been extended for six years. The announcement was almost enough to make one forget the loss the night before.
I'd love to say the Canadiens came out flying or that the Canadiens looked like a team possessed, but I can't.
Girgensons's tip-in was enough to bring all the bad memories flooding back and remind us that the Habs are a truly terrible first period team. The Canadiens are not looking very good.
It's not like the Sabres are looking very good either. They look like a very beatable team and I think that is what is most frustrating. Very winnable games that turn into losses are the hardest to take. Cue montages of Habs early season highlights accompanied by Maxine Nightingale's Right Back Where We Started From
