I find it hilarious that grown man who was alive for the entirety of Harold Ballard's completely offensive ownership of the Toronto Maple Leafs finds the lack of a stick salute at the end of a game the worst thing that's ever happened in Leafs history. Don Cherry is a maroon. Sorry just had to get that out of there and a game between two Original Six Franchises seems like the right place to air those greivances.
The broadcast team mentioned that Sergei Gonchar is the first 40 year old skate in Montreal's history and I remember that Ryan Walter, Randy McKay, and Mathieu Schneider (2nd tour of duty) only seemed ancient.
Speaking of Romanuk, I much prefer the Johnson-Romanuk tandem over some of the other broadcasting teams we've been subjected to. Romanuk seemed like he was in hockey purgatory for a long time. He was a big part of my hockey experience in the 90s and it's nice to see him back doing NHL games on a regular basis.
Well the Canadiens can't score first or even score in the first period in every game. And of course it's former Hab Dominic Moore who starts the deficit for Montreal. Still love that Sekac-Eller-Prust line. Wonder if this is their Broadway show (awful joke sorry)?
