The Habs got lucky in the second with Dutch Gretzky as the recipient of a gift goal. Kevin Shattenkirk tried to move the book from out behind the St. Louis net and made a beautiful pass right to Dale Weise who was planted in front of Jake Allen. Weise subsequently scored and both Jake Allen and Kevin Shattenkirk were left with stupefying looks on their faces.
The Habs got good and lucky later in the second on a Max Pacioretty breakaway (the good) off a long pass by P.A. Parenteau (the lucky). Great way to celebrate Patches's birthday - his ninth of the year. The result a 2-1 lead for the Habs
Jiri Sekac looking golden, the Habs haven't visited the sin bin, Paajarvi hearing the whistle a lot - great period for Montreal.
