Who gets things started in the first for St. Louis? The aforementioned trio of Vladimir Tarasenko, Jori Lehtera, and Jaden Schwartz. That's great if you're the GM of a fantasy hockey team called the Fighting Saints and own both Tarasenko and Schwartz, but not so great if you're a fan of the Montreal Canadiens
Making crucial stops late in the first to thwart a St. Louis attack, the goalpost was possibly Montreal's most valuable player in the first.
Exciting pressure from the Canadiens particularly in the last three minutes of play in the first, nothing to show for it on the scoresheet despite a scramble in the goalmouth that confused more than a few people. Nice to see the Habs apply good offensive pressure against a strong team, disappointing to see the Habs once again exit the first without a goal.
Now I look forward to my dad's least favorite former Red Wing providing analysis between periods... Ladies and Gentleman, Bernie Federko!
