Canadiens vs Jets game thread & lineups

Montreal at home against surging Jets. Canadiens look to derail Pavelec's hot streak and bring Winnipeg back down to Earth.

USA TODAY Sports

Busy long weekend for the Habs as they waived Rene Bourque and sent him down to the Bulldogs, called up Drayson Bowman (who should be playing tonight), and traded Travis Moen for Sergei Gonchar.

Gonchar will more than likely not dress for the Habs tonight, giving Beaulieu another shot to say, "Why trade for that guy when you got baby Beaulieu to set up a sweet PP goal for you?" Drayson Bowman will take Moen's spot on the fourth line and the rest of the lines from Saturday's win over the Wild should stay intact.

On the Jets side, former Cape Breton Screaming Eagle Ondrej Pavelec will return to net after a 2-1 shootout win on Saturday against the Sens. The rest of the lineup should remain intact with Adam Pardy (another former Screaming Eagle), Anthony Peluso (fresh off an injury), and Matt Halischuk all sitting.

Laura Saba spoke with Arctic Ice Hockey's Cara T here to gain some insight on Pavelec's hot start, Mark Scheifele and Evander Kane, and the Jets' bottom six struggles.

No Jets with any real strong Canadiens ties, so which Jet scares you the most heading into tonight's game? Feels like the first time the Canadiens have played a team that hasn't included a former Hab.
