Canadiens vs Lightning game thread

Playoff rematch! Can the Bolts stop the Habs or are they about to be on the wrong end of a 4-0 record again?

Andre Ringuette

The Canadiens are coming off a most improbable comeback that had a lot of you saying "eff this s" by the end of the first period. Thankfully some of us stuck around and they pulled it out in a shootout. Can they extend their perfect record to four games? The Bolts are coming off a disappointing shootout loss to the Sens in this rematch of last year's first round playoff sweep.

A few changes to the Canadiens lineup with Parenteau and Sekac switching spots, Parenteau will line up with Plekanec and Galchenyuk and Sekac will line up with Eller and Bourque. Tinordi started Saturday's game with Subban, but spent the majority of his time with Weaver. Expectations are that Markov and Subban will team up on the first pairing, Beaulieu and Gilbert on the second, and Tinordi with Weaver.

Both teams will go with their first string goalies for this game. The Bolts are playing the first of a back-to-back and the Habs are playing the last of a four game roadtrip that sees them with two days off before heading back to Montreal for their home opener against Boston.

Here's two questions for the comments, will Jonathan Drouin stick with the Bolts this season or is he destined for a return to junior? and Who will score first?

Puck drop is at 7:30PM ET. It will be carried on TV by RDS, City-Montreal & SUN.
