Several Habs players were named to their national squads ahead of the upcoming Olympic Games in Sochi.

After receiving the news that both P.K. Subban and Carey Price made Team Canada, we learned that a few other members of the Montreal Canadiens have been named to their respective national squads.

Representing Team Russia will be the General, Andrei Markov. Markov will be participating in his third Olympic Games for Russia.

Joining Markov will be the hard hitting Alexei Emelin. It will be Emelin's first Olympic Games, however he's represented his country during the World Championship on several occasions.

Back-up Peter Budaj will be heading to Sochi for team Slovakia. He will likely play second fiddle to former Habs netminder Jaroslav Halak.

The fourth Habs defenseman heading to the Olympics is Raphael Diaz. Diaz will represent the Swiss and is participating in his second Olympic Games.

Tomas Plekanec is set to captain the Czech national squad in what is his second tenure at the Olympics, and rounding out the Habs Olympians is elite winger Max Pacioretty who will play for Team USA.

That brings the total of Montreal Canadiens Olympians to 8, which is a great showing and should rank among the league's best in terms of players sent to Sochi.
