The Canadiens started the game as poorly as they possibly could have, but it didn't bite them in large part due to the brilliance of Carey Price.

The Canadiens allowed the Capitals to take it to them to begin the game, lying down for 8 straight shots against and 11 attempts before Rene Bourque got one on net.

After Washington's 11th shot attempt, the Canadiens carried the play to the tune of a 17-5 shot attempt advantage, even though the Capitals were given an undeserved powerplay.

Brilliant moves by Alex Galchenyuk resulted in the Canadiens breaking through first as Lars Eller shovelled home a loose puck in the goal mouth.

Carey Price's brilliance early kept the Canadiens in this one, and his team rewarded him.
