Canadiens at Maple Leafs - Second Period Thread

The Canadiens got two goals from their fourth line in the opening period, unfortunately one of them was on their own net.

SCORING SUMMARY

1ST PERIOD

13:44 TOR F. MCLAREN (2) SNAP - ASST: M. BROWN (1) AND J. MCCLEMENT (5) 1 - 0 TOR

16:56 MTL A. EMELIN (1) SLAP - ASST: C. ARMSTRONG (3) AND T. MOEN (2) 1 - 1 TIE

PENALTY SUMMARY

1ST PERIOD

19:22 TOR MIKE BROWN : BOARDING - 2 MIN (JOSH GORGES)

The Canadiens dominated the Maple Leafs in terms of possession, so in typical Randy Carlyle fashion, the Leafs resorted to cheap shots.

Colton Orr wasted no time, slew footing Alexei Emelin on the very first shift. Next up was Leo Komarov with an elbow to the face of P.K. Subban when the puck wasn't there. And finally Mike Brown with a hit from behind on Josh Gorges, who didn't have the puck. Brown's was actually called, and the Habs have about 4.5 minutes left on the major penalty to start the second.

Travis Moen scored Toronto's goal, snapping it off Fraser McLaren's stick and behind Carey Price. The Colby Armstrong responded with a strong shift, sending a pass up to Emelin, who scored his first of the season.

Moen got an assist on the play, so I guess he has two points tonight.
