Therrien's accidental/on purpose strategy of boring the Rangers to sleep worked like a charm. It only took a minute and 20 seconds into the period before Erik Cole converted a nice pass from Eller that bounced off of Brandon Prust out to the goal mouth. Somehow the NHL took the assists away from Eller and Prust, so Eller decided to get more.
The line of Eller, Cole, and Alex Galchenyuk continued to be on fire with a strong play by Lars Eller that was reminiscient of Peter Forsberg, sending the puck to Galchenyuk in the slot, where he beat Martin Biron.
Then P.K. Subban drew a penalty from Marian Gaborik and that very same line completed one of the nicest passing plays I've seen in years for Lars Eller's second goal of the season. It should be a 3 point night for Eller, hopefully they correct that.
Price was awesome as well, stopping a brief flurry by the Rangers with ease that calmed the game down completely.
Now let's not do the Tampa Bay thing. Close out strong.
