Canadiens vs Lightning - Second Period Thread

It's 1-0 Tampa Bay after one on a goal that probably wouldn't have happened if Emelin was back tonight, but that's the way it goes.

SCORING SUMMARY

1ST PERIOD

05:00 TBL Ryan Malone (3) Tip-in - ASST: Eric Brewer (4), B.J. Crombeen (3) 1 - 0 TBL

PENALTY SUMMARY

1ST PERIOD

05:53 TBL Ondrej Palat Holding - 2 min against Travis Moen

12:40 TBL Tyler Johnson Hooking - 2 min against Rene Bourque

18:01 TBL Mark Barberio Tripping - 2 min against Gabriel Dumont

Somehow in spite of taking three penalties, the Lightning are nursing a 1-0 lead and actually have the edge in the shot count.

The Habs' powerplay has looked pretty solid, generating a ton of "almosts" but they're not getting enough shots on Ben BishopI doubt the Lightning will play that undisciplined all game, so the 1st period seems like a huge lost opportunity.

The line of Michael Bournival, Danny Briere, and Rene Bourque has looked very good, and the fourth line drew two of the three Tampa penalties. Hopefully that continues. You have to think that if Briere develops chemistry with those two at center, David Desharnais isn't going to play very soon.
