The Montreal Canadiens didn't wait long to take control in this one, with a full four line possession in the Jets' offensive zone until Danny Briere fired a shot off the backboards that Brandon Prust corralled and put behind Ondrej Pavelec.

P.K. Subban's patented one-timer created a two goal lead after the Habs had a dominant powerplay that failed to score, set up by David Desharnais for his first point of this young season. And with that, both of the players we've been ripping have factored in the scoring.

Also of note: Francis Bouillon and Josh Gorges both have two game point streaks going. These must be extremely rare in the first place, but to happen at the same time? Wow.

The bad news is that Max Pacioretty went down with an apparent groin injury after being hauled down by the Jets off the rush. You never know when Max will make a miracle comeback, but that looked ugly.

The Habs dominated possession early, but they kind of let the Jets back in it towards the end, hopefully they work that out before the second period begins.
