2013 EOTP Commenter Awards: Who wins the Golden Subban, the Silver Plekanec, and the Bronze Pacioretty?
SB Nation's big wigs send out a document that showed us the top commenters, fanshotters and fanposters, so here are your rewards!
The Bronze Pacioretty Trophy
The drive by snipers, the "perimeter players", the people who give us links worth looking at. The fanshot is a great tool to post a picture, link, video, quote, tweet, or gif that you want to show off, but don't have a lot to say about. The Bronze Pacioretty Trophy is awarded to the commenter not affiliated officially with Eyes on the Prize who has posted the most fanshots. The winner of the inaugural trophy is... a tie!
The fanshot was not used very often in 2013, with "courtnall", "jd_statman", and "habnonymous" all tying for the lead with just 2 of them. Congrats to all three of you!
The Silver Plekanec Trophy
Often underrated, the fanpost is a linchpin of the Eyes on the Prize community, allowing readers to share well thought out opinions and analysis that can be featured on the front page. Fanposts also help the editorial staff find new writers for the site, which keeps the community vibrant. The Silver Plekanec Trophy is awarded annually to the commenter not affiliated officially with Eyes on the Prize who has posted the most fanposts. The winner of the inaugural trophy is... "i3irdy"!
With 7 fanposts during 2013, "i3irdy" narrowly edged out "tito.w.sanchez" and "TrevaDaddy" with 5 fanposts each, followed by "Alex Danco" and "Simon Ledsham" with 4 fanposts a piece. Congrats to "i3irdy"!
The Golden Subban Trophy
Awarded to the commenter not affiliated officially with Eyes on the Prize who has commented the most often, the Golden Subban Award is the most prestigious award that EOTP gives out. Without further adieu, we present the inaugural trophy to none other than... "Lats"!
With 3900 comments in the 2013 calendar year, "Lats" was the runaway leader over runners up "punkster" with 2183 comments, "Nolan KB" with 2016 comments, "JD__" with 1793 comments, and "courtnall" with 1685 comments. Congrats to "Lats"!
