The St. Louis Blues have traded the recently bought out by the Rangers, then signed, Wade Redden to the Boston Bruins, where he will be reunited with longtime Senators teammate Zdeno Chara.
Redden was actually having a heck of a season in a sheltered role in St. Louis going by his underlying numbers, making him worth far more than a 7th round pick in my opinion.
Redden is no longer a top 4 defenseman, but he's likely significantly better than Boston's current options on the third pairing, which unfortunately makes them a better team.
Redden is an unrestricted free agent at season's end and has produced 2 goals and 3 assists in 23 games in 2013.
