Leblanc to stay in Harvard

The family of Montreal Canadiens 2009 first round pick Louis Leblanc has taken Creative Artist Agency (CAA) and agent Pat Brisson as family advisors. CAA represents sports celebrities for all major sports and boasts a roster of clients that includes NHL stars Sidney Crosby, Patrick Kane and Shane Doan amongst others. Leblanc made headlines over the weekend, when his QMJHL rights were traded from the Chicoutimi Saugeneens to the Montreal Juniors, leading to questions on his future at Harvard. Brisson stated that Leblanc will remain at the Ivy League school, where he was the ECAC Rookie of the Year, for time being.

SBN 2009 NHL Mock Draft Day 10

This is it for the first round folks. It's Day 10, and more than a few SBN participants were willing to go seven rounds with this, but I gather that 24 hours from now we will all be looking back at this mock draft and wondering why the respective teams we cover didn't take our advice! Sports Blog Nation's mock NHL Entry Draft continued today, with the Buffalo Sabres, Florida Panthers and Anaheim Ducks sites announcing their selections, the 13th, 14th and 15th of the mock draft. The second tier of talent after top seven is impressive, but the overall skill package of players looks to drop off some as we get closer to the 20th pick.

For The Canadiens, Chris Kreider Could Be The Guy!

Massachusetts’ Phillips Andover Academy center Chris Kreider's combination of size speed and skill are an alluring package for any team wishing to call his name on June 26. Projected as a mid to late first rounder, Kreider has been on the scouts radar for quite some time now.

Louis Leblanc: An Ideal Centerman For Canadiens On Draft Day

Leblanc was the only midget player to be invited to the U-18 National Camp in 2008. His play has been described as "a gritty style that has caught many scouts’ attention. He loves to play in front of the net and crease area where he nags the goaltender and draws penalties."
