- RFA Nick Spaling and the Pittsburgh Penguins have agreed on a two-year contract worth $4.4M. Spaling was sent to Pittsburgh along with Patric Hornqvist for James Neal at the 2014 NHL Draft in June.
- No bad blood between Brodeur and the Devils’ GM Lamoriello. The 42-year old goaltending legend Brodeur is expected to continue playing in the NHL this year, but we have been assured that it won’t be with the only team he has ever played for.
- Another concussion lawsuit has been filed against the NHL by an ex-enforcer. Jon Rohloff is leading the class-action lawsuit against the NHL. Rohloff played for the Boston Bruins from 1994-1997 and spent more time in the penalty box than on the ice.
