Habs Collectors update: Jacques Lemaire asks to much
A few updates for collectors of Montreal Canadiens autographs and memorabilia updated on a few things.
A few weeks back, I noted the nice roster of former Habs attending the The Toronto Sport Card Expo in November. There have been a couple minor changes since that reporter. Jacques Laperriere is no longer part of Friday's autograph session, due to a scheduling conflict. In his place, "The Little M" Peter Mahovlich will be appearing alongside the already scheduled Mike Keane and Steve Shutt on Friday November 11.
Shutt's former center, Jacques Lemaire, has been canceled by promoter AJSportsworld after the Hall of Fame center reportedly doubled his fee demands, after already making a commitment with the latter. Of course we're only hearing one side of the story, but it's not the first time a pro athlete has screwed over the promoter, and ultimately the fans, as Lemaire joins a list that includes Chris Bosh, Lawrence Taylor and Ed Westfall.
Update on Price autograph signing and other Habs memorabilia news
Here's a few updates for autograph and memorabilia collectors of Le Bleu, Blanc et Rouge.
First up is an important scheduling change for this week's Toronto autograph signing by Carey Price. The signing will still be at AJSportsworld, but it has moved up a day to Friday September 9 at 6:45 pm.
For those closer to the home base in Montreal, Price Travis Moen and Josh Gorges will be doing a signing at A.L. Collections (4320 Grand-Allee in Boisbriand, QC) on October 16th from 3pm to 5pm. More info, including fees and special package deals can be found here.
Of course the fall season not only brings the NHL season to a start, but also a pair of key dates for memorabilia collectors, both of which involve plenty of Habs greats and collectibles.

Carey Price provides a birthday surprise for Halifax Habs fan
Last Thursday, Richard McAdam was returning home from a night out with the boys, when his wife Tasha met him at the door. "Say goodbye to the cat, and grab your bag. We're off to Toronto." Before he knew it, Richard and his wife were on a flight to Toronto to see the Montreal Canadiens take on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It was certainly a fantastic birthday gift for McAdam, who's birthday was the next day. But little did he know, there was a lot more planned for him.
McAdam, a die-hard Habs fan and hockey memorabilia collector lives in Halifax, but is originally from Penticton, B.C. His collection has a prominent featuring of two notable Habs players from B.C., Carey Price and Josh Gorges.
Until this weekend, I only knew McAdam online through a Canadiens Facebook page, and a Carey Price fan group. Over the last three plus years, he shared with us his latest finds and acquisitions of cards, signed items, etc to the point that the site that Carey Price.com named him as their superfan.
