Elegant Elmer, the center of the Canadiens famed Punch Line, was a five time all-star, double Art Ross trophy winner and Hart Trophy winner during his 16 seasons with the team. Known for his battling style and broken noses as much for his great passing ability, Lach played on three Stanley Cup winners with Montreal. In 1954, he retired as the NHL's all-time point leader with 623.
