Some bad news on the injury news, but good news on the call up front.
So it seems like the Bulldogs finally smartened up and realized Olivier Fortier deserved another shot in the AHL. The bad news is that it took an injury to Aaron Palushaj to do it.
Palushaj hasn't been having the season he hoped for, coming off a point per game AHL season last year with a nice taste of NHL action, he hasn't even been able to score a half point per game. That said, he's been the second highest scorer on the Bulldogs, and their leading goal scorer.
A practice injury has Palushaj out for an estimated 4-6 weeks, which is a huge blow to the already struggling to score Bulldogs.
Fortier has been playing for the Orlando Solar Bears in the ECHL this year and has 9 goals and 10 assists in 23 games. The 23 year old Quebec City native had been a solid AHL contributor for two years before this one, and he'll be looking to stick at that level this time.
