Habs Game Recaps

A look at what happened in the night's games

The little team that could

Everyone bet against them, everyone always does, but the Montreal Canadiens showed what they were made of this season, and a bright future is ahead of them.

Two more to go

After a great start, the Canadiens nearly blew it, but Rene Bourque came to the rescue.

On the brink

It's been the story of the series, as the Canadiens were burned by their ineffective breakouts and lost a winnable game against the Rangers.

Lady Luck returns

It wasn't pretty, but the Habs have cut the series deficit in half.

Good effort, bad result

Montreal was leaps and bounds better in game two, but Lundqvist shut the door.

Poke the bear

Off to the Conference Finals they go, with a bear pelt in tow.

A complete effort from start to finish

It was do or die for the Habs, and with a great effort in the bank they'll live to play another game.

Habs beat themselves again

Everyone is tripping over themselves giving Boston credit for being up 3-2 against Montreal, but in the last two games, it was the Canadiens beating themselves, rather than Boston outplaying them.

Close, but no cigar

Montreal drops game 4 in overtime, after a solid performance on home ice.

Habs stem the Bruins' tide

For the third straight game in this series, the Canadiens had a 3-1 lead in the third period, but for the first time they didn't blow it.

A tough loss to swallow

Thanks to a late push, and a little luck, the Bruins tied the series at one.

The Habs do what matters

In a game where the Canadiens were outshot, outchanced, outhit, and outplayed, they did what matters, and have a 1-0 series lead over Boston.

How sweep it is

Montreal capped off their series vs Tampa Bay with another strong performance, led by the bottom 6.

Habs hold 3-0 series lead for 1st time since 1993

Three games into the 2014 NHL playoffs, the Montreal Canadiens remain perfect.

Desharnais showing his mettle

A lightning rod of criticism last year, David Desharnais has begun these playoffs on fire.

Fourth line comes up big

It took an overtime period to get it done, but Montreal shot down Tampa's home ice advantage with a dominant performance.

Mixed signals

Heading into the playoffs, the Canadiens remain a frustratingly inconsistent team.

Le CH finit par épuiser Detroit

La contre-attaque paye en deuxième et les Wings ont perdu leurs jambes en 3e.

Subban's mystifying misuse

Tuesday night's matchup was a microcosm of the entire 2013-14 season for the Canadiens. Poor coaching, bad defense, Price saving their bacon, and Subban being underused.
