Carey Price robs Michael Ryder

The Olympian Carey Price makes a fantastic glove save on former teammate Michael Ryder to keep Montreal in the game.

Corey Crawford absolutely robs Lars Eller

An incredible save by Corey Crawford kept the Habs lead to 1. I'm still not sure how he managed to keep the puck out of the net, and Eller probably doesn't know either.

PK Subban scores a beautiful goal

Once again, Montreal's best player was up to his old tricks, by creating a scoring chance out of a seemingly innocent play. How can he not be on Team Canada? He set up both Habs goals tonight, and has 3 points mid-way through the second period.

David Desharnais - Hero Mode

Oft criticized centre David Desharnais won the game tonight in spectacular fashion. He put together his best shift of the year and the timing couldn't be better. Desharnais has 14 points in the last 17 games and might just be the hottest member of the Montreal Canadiens at the moment. It was Desharnais' 4th goal of the year, as well as his second game-winning goal.

Max Pacioretty scored on a breakaway. No, seriously!

Max Pacioretty is one of the best goal scorers in the league, but he's not exactly known for being a finisher on breakaways. In fact, he's flat out terrible when facing the goalie alone. Stick to the backhand Max, it seems to work.

Subban beats Mazanec with a bomb

It had been a while since we had seen a PK Subban bullet from the point, but he made no mistake tonight beating Marek Mazanec in what ended up being the first of 3 goals allowed by the Czech goalie.

Sebastian Collberg's great goal vs USA

Habs prospect Sebastian Collberg scored a beauty yesterday vs the USA & Sweden game during IIHF WJC pre-tournament play. We're expecting big things from Collberg at the WJCs, and he's off to a great start.

Douglas Murray's late hit on Alex Steen

He may be slow but he hits like a truck. Murray was spared a 2 minute minor on this play, and it ended up (sadly) being one of the highlights of the night on vs a dominant Blues club.

Roch Carrier’s National Film Board of Canada animated short classic, "The Sweater"

A nice memory for the old-timers and great for the kiddies at bedtime. “We all wore the famous number 9 on our backs….” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZyDsF-Gp3o (very good video quality)

Lars Eller obliterates John Tavares

This huge hit by Lars Eller resulted in a 2 minute penalty, presumably because the optics of Tavares' helmet popping off were bad. Eller leads the Habs in hits, and this is might be the biggest one in his career. Tavares was fine and played on the ensuing powerplay.
