NHL realignment survey
I hope this is an appropriate place to post this,
I’m from PPP
and I’m doing a project for a Communications class on NHL realignment,
If any of you could fill out this survey (its really quick) that would be fantastic,
Thanks!
There is a difference between ‘hypocrisy’ and ‘changing your mind’ or ‘having regrets’. Typically, we allow that people can stop doing things when they begin to feel those things are harmful to them, and suggest in turn that perhaps others should not do those things, because they might also find them harmful. According to your logic, Don Cherry, anyone who ever held up a few liquor stores would be morally obligated to continue holding up liquor stores as long as he could, and furthermore to encourage others to hold up liquor stores as a means of survival, and if that person ever renounced liquor-store-robbery, they would be a turncoat and a hypocrite.
E at A Theory of Ice, speaking of Don Cherry's disgusting first Coach's Corner segment of 2011-12. This response was to Cherry's assertion that former fighters like Jim Thomson, Chris Nilan, and Georges Laraque were 'turncoats' for having second thoughts on fighting's role in the game.
While the 2011-12 season unfortunately brings yet another season of the Don on Hockey Night in Canada, it fortunately is bringing the most eloquent Habs blogger on the planet back on board. We've missed you, E.
Canadiens sign Jeff Woywitka
Woywitka, a veteran defenceman of 251 NHL games, has signed a one year, two-way contract with Montreal. He would have to clear waivers in order to be sent to Hamilton.
The signing is a depth move, possibly in case of a training camp injury, and is reminiscient of the Canadiens signing Alexandre Picard last year, except for a big, slow, left handed defensive defenceman rather than a smaller, mobile, right handed offensive defenceman. It also decreases the likelihood that we will see Brendon Nash or Mark Mitera called up in case of injury.
Woywitka could make the NHL team as a spare even without an injury, as the Canadiens have been known to carry 8 defencemen in the past.
Broadstreet Hockey - The Butterfly Effect
A pretty interesting take on Philadelphia's cap-mismanagement..
Canadiens on the Clock
Hello Habs fans. Stopping by to enlist some help if possible. We are running a community, poll based mock draft over at Hockey Wilderness, and the Habs are on the clock. We could use your assistance in choosing the proper player. Stop by and cast your vote.
Poll closes at 8PM central time. Hope to see you there.
"All They Do Is Win (The Stanley Cup)" by Deprisk
Filmed in Montreal outside the Bell Center, home of the Montreal Canadiens. In keeping with the spirit of Habsmania, the video is shot with extras who were recruited on the spot seconds before shooting.

BTN: Habs carry the play like an elite road team
The Habs road record may have only recently pushed the .500 mark, but that's not the result of poor play: they generally have carried the play when the game is tied, which is arguably the best indicator of a team's strength. Bad shooting percentage (which often means bad luck) and an inability to draw penalties are probably the two most prominent things keeping Montreal down in the #6 seed in the East right now.
